27 km actually. FJ was great when we were there last year. You can walk up
to the terminus and even onto the botton metre or two ( just need to go past
the rope barriers saying you have to be super fit to go any further).

Would not rec. going more than a metre or two onto the ice though.

Also of interest, a bit over halfway from the carpark to the terminus, there
are clear fault lines on either side of the valley. Not too many places in
the southern hemisphere where you can step from one continental plate onto
another....:-)
