I couldn't arrange a trip to Carins during this time so my "friends"
are abandoning me in Melbourne for the week. The trip is essentially
last minute so I have no idea where to start and what to do. Well, I
would like to *try* to surf. Gold Coast? Are car rentals reasonable?
(i.e., can I drive there and back within the day?) *Really* cheap
motels/hotels? Any websites on tips for single travellers who've
barely left Canada? Nnevermind flights lasting longer than 12 h. ;-)
