My SIM card worked fine in Europe, but more importantly you
need a phone with the right frequency bands - and for the
SIM you need a supplier that enables international roaming.

European appliances are the same voltage, but will need an
adaptor for the socket. But then, even in Europe I needed
adaptors for the differences between Switzerland, the rest
of the EU, and the UK.

Someone will know the web-page that has details of all that.
