I will restrict my remarks to just these points, then retire to allow
potential customers of "singleguy" to make their own judgements:
1. I am not involved in the hospitality industry.
2. I am not claiming that where I live is any "better" than Doveton. This
point is irrelevant as I am not offering my residence as a commercial rental
to international travellers.
3. Your own map shows that you are more than two kilometres from the train
station. That's easily 15 minutes, probably more for most people.
4. People travelling from overseas who are searching the Internet for a
place to stay have a right to read comments that discuss relevant matters
and assist them in making decisions. Usenet, in partcular, is an
appropriate place for the exchange of information. Even more so when
newsgroups are used as free advertising for commercial ventures.
5. I described your location, which is a vitally important consideration for
most travellers, in strong but measured tones. I did not attack you using
terms like "self proclaimed expert", "up your nose knowall",
"inconsequential", "falsely ignorant", "and (sic) idiot", a "carper", a "one
of (sic)", a "nark", a "knocker", a "whining jerk", having a "whiney (sic)
personality", making "unthinking" or "shallow judgements" or having
"obnoxius (sic) views". It's interesting to see your demonstration of the
"civilized and socially friendly tone" that you say is so important.
