I've been a regular correspondent on 3 newsgroups and 5 Yahoo groups for
years and my @ddress is all over our pages. I get spam and viruses
(virii?) sent to me at about the same level at an old address. I think
my Mac.com server filters them upon receipt as I get only a couple a day
(funny, since the virii (viruses?) don't affect Macs at all.) Most of
the ones I look at also went to all sorts of variations around my true
address, which implies they're trying all possible combinations. There's
one virus that spoofs my @ddress as their return-to that was a bit more
of an annoyance a couple of weeks ago, but again mac.com seems to filter
most of them out these days.
More likely, you've run into another security leak in MicroS..T's HotMail.
