Itīs true that the kidnap rate is going high in Trinidad, but " Mr cyb",
should also say that the kidnappers donīt look for visitors, they are
looking for local businees peoples with money. Mostly kipnappers are also
involved in different crime as drugs, illegal weapons and so on, itīs not
really common behaivor for the peole of Trinidad & Tobago to kidnap others.
Mostly visitors do spend a lot of time in Trinidad, because the beaches are
so far from the town and the hotels. They mostly go across for a few days
for shopping or nature sightseeing. Trinidad isnīt a "tourist island",
thoose who go for a vacation go to Tobago wich is a safe island for all.
A very common salery for locals in Trinidad may be some 5-600US per month,
but many, many donīt even have the half of that. So when the kidnappers ask
for some 500.000 - 2.000.000TTD and only get a part of that, they still get
a lot in a locals view, for the kidnappers this is "business".
Sometimes criminals go across from Trindad to Tobago because they believe
itīs moore easy to "make business" there. But Tobago is so small so evey
local recognise them nearly at once. Itīs easy for the police to pick them,
no where to hide.
And "Mr cyb", speaking bad about a country without telling whoīs writing is
really a low, cheap behaivor in my eyes.
