On St. Martin, the most well-known beach is Orient, but in part it is
overbuilt and can be quite busy where most of the beach restaurants
are. It is also clothes optional, mainly at one end. Dawn is a quieter
alternative and would be my recommendation. It is actually on the Dutch
side, but you really can't tell. The least active end is Scavenger's
beach bar, where there are chairs and umbrellas to rent. Another choice
would be Pinel, but it is a 5 minute ferry ride off shore.
