There may be a misunderstanding about the term "Ugly American," as we
are anything but "uptight." We're as interested in having a good time
as anyone; however, resonable and fun-loving people don't need to be chemically-
altered to do so. Committing criminal activity (drugs) or drinking to
excess reflects a character flaw, and goes far beyond "partying;"
rather, it declares the person to be an embarassment to themselves and
their country of origin.
I appreciate all of the thoughtful input, reflective of your knowledge
of the country. We have traveled Western Europe, the Pacific Rim, and
Southeast Asia, and will certainly have a good time in Jamaica - hence,
the request for assistance to ensure that we do have a good time.
Thanks, and with regards.
