Here are three tips for first time visitors to Jamaica:
1. Don't tell people it's your 1st visit to Jamiaca. When hustlers find out
it's your 1st visit, you become an easy mark.
2. Don't tell strangers where you are staying. Locals with a lot of time
on their hands will wait outside your hotel so that they can try to
sell you something when you leave your hotel/resort.
3. Don't tell people when you are leaving. If you do you may find locals
waiting for you to check out at which time they will beg for your
clothing, sunglasses, etc.
4. Beware of locals who will try to convince you that they work at
your hotel or a restaurant as a means to convince you of their
credibility.
