The only calling cards that will work are BATELCO cards and I think
they sell them in $10 increments. I'm pretty sure they are readily
available. You can't turn them in for the amount you didn't use.
When they were still accepted, I had a 500 minutes SAMS club card,
which in the Bahamas was only good for about 30 minutes if that gives
you an idea of the cost..
It would be better to call home VERY briefly and set up an appointment
for them to call you back. Much cheaper that way.
Even cheaper - go to one of the internet cafes and send email or
instant message. Costs about 10 cents a minute or thereabouts. They
have them in Nassau, Lucaya and Freeport.
Also check on whether you can call from the ship. Might be cheaper.
