Generally the only way is if a singles' club books the AI for an
event. The only other way is if your travel agent has a history of
booking a specific AI . If he/she calls in some markers at that AI
she/he may be able to waive the "single supliment" or get it discounted
for you. This isn't something you'd expect from a first time customer
relationship with a TA but rather if you have a long standing business
relationship.

I know this because my travel partner bailed at the last minute. My TA
said not to worry that folks at the resort owed her some favors. She
got the single supliment waved for me.
