A friend who lives in Aruba sent me the link on the aftermath of the
hurricanes:
http://www.omardesouza.com/
The pictures are taken near Baby beach in Aruba. Baby Beach is
located in the "bad" part of Aruba where there is a refinery and many
smoke stacks. (The smokes blow out to sea. The refinery is on the
west side of the island. The resorts are on the east side. Baby
beach is gorgeous. Children can wade in the pristine blue water
without adult supervision. It is that tranquil and that shallow.
Looks like there is some damage after all, although not very severe.
My guess is it is not severe enough to disrrupt normal services.
People have always thought Aruba is out of the hurricane zone where it
just gets a few inches of rain while other islands get swept by the
full hurricane force. Not this time. |
