There is a water barge that goes between Statia & Guadeloupe. I
doubt they take passengers, but someone with a lot of time and a
lot of whiles could try to squeeze themselves onto that type of
transport.

Yup, there are freighters that do the Miama to islands route (for
example, carrying all those past-sell-by-date ex-groceries to
Montserrat). I know there is a paying passenger market across
the pacific on freighters, but don't know much about the Atlantic
route, or how to go about finding it.

That sounds like a pretty good idea. Might be good to get some
crew experience under the belt as a prerequisite..
