It all depends on what your interests are. Belize is great for snorkeling
and diving but only so-so for just laying on the beach, IMHO. Also, I would
minimize my time in Belize City because I personally did not feel safe even
just driving around the city. Unfortunately most boats to the cayes are from
Belize City, near the infamous gas station. Anway, before we took our boat
to St Georges Caye, we parked the car for no more than 30 minutes to pick up
some lunch and it was broken into. All they managed to steal was the only
thing we left in the car not including the trunk; my friend's old used
slippers. I would be wary of spending too much time in Belize City.
