I took my family to Grand Cayman in July 2004. We stayed at the Cayman
Comfort Suites, which was a nice value motel. Our two children with us, so
we stayed in a suite which had two private bedrooms and a fold-out sofa in
the living room. The room had a kitchenette area with refrig, microwave,
stove, dishwasher, silverware, and cupboards. Also, the Comfort Suites had
a wonderful free breakfast buffet. So, everyday, we ate breakfast for free
and went to the supermarket (Kirk's) and bought lunch things, snacks, and
drinks, so lunch didn't cost much. Dinner, we went out, and it was
expensive, but not as expensive as buying three meals a day.

The pool at the motel was nice, but the beach is a public beach, not a motel
private beach, but it was nice, too. Good snorkling right there with plenty
of fish and stingrays close to shore. There is a Don Foster Dive Shop right
on grounds and they set me up two scuba diving excursions and treated me
well. I am sure they could direct you to snorkling spots, too.

All told, we had a wonderful family vacation. Hope this helps you.
