You'll think differently when your police state finds out that you were
in the same hotel as some terrorist group meeting, and your neighbours
will have callen in some suspicious behaviour at your house, and the FBI
will put 2+2 together and decide you must be a terrosist and arrested
under patriot act (which means you have none of the legal protections
your constitution is supposed to garantee al PEOPLE in the USA). When
you have a regime which needs to show results for its tactics, they will
find all sorts of terrorists everywhere, just like they are finding
plenty of terrorists on flights (such as the one recent Air France family).
Just like the secret no-fly list finds so many false positives with
serious repercussions for innocent people who are treated like
terrosists, your "total information awareness" regime will increase
those lists and make even more mistakes. Remember that under partiot
act, people have been arrested, sent to prison for 12 days with lights
on 24/7 (by intl convention, this is torture) with 12 people in a cell:
their crime: filing some paper late, even though they were legally in
the USA and they papers were stll valid. The regime just wanted them to
sign new papers.
Remember that your regime now has access to all your credit card
transactions, and can monitor your travels and what you purchase abroad
(because it goes thorugh the VISA/MC computers in the USA). So when you
fly, they not only know that you are flying, but with whom you are
flying, who paid for the tickets (and when), your meal preferences,
passport and credit card info.
And the USA lacks proper data privacy laws and lapses have already
happened whn live personal data from passengers was displayed at
conferences becayuse the contractor hadn't been told he was given live
data and not told to keep it private.
It used to be that the mere mention of a national ID acrd in the USA
would raise the anger aof all americans. Now, the thing passed without
any uproad or barely any media coverage. It was hidden in s military
spending bill.
And americans aren't even wondering why they doN't even question their
government anymore. They just blindly believe what it says and think all
those totalitarian measures are necessary to combat terrorism. The rest
of the world tried to warn you of what was happening, and you just
inulted your former friends. Now, it is up to you to eventually wake up.
But that time, many of the totalitarian measures will have been in for
so long that it will take a lot to remove them.
Right now, no politician has the guts to question the patriot act
because that would be seen as un patriotoc and put americans in dangers
and helping terrorists destroy america.
It is the bush regime which is helping the terrosist and american voted
the regime back in. The bush regime is maintaining the state of fear
(that is what terrorism is), and continuing to anger the arab world
against the USA which feeds the terrorists's anger.
So please, stop saying that your governmebht is trying to protect you
from terrorism. They are doing the exact opposite, and for good reason:
the only way they could get re-elected is bty keeping americans in a
state of fear/shock over 9-11 . |
