Why narrow your choice at all? I can't think anything more romantic
than a honeymoon aboard a cruise ship. That way you can sample several
islands. The ones you like you can visit again for your first post
marriage vacation. All the ships follow basically the same routes,
Western Caribbean, Eastern Caribbean and Southern Caribbean. Western
usually includes Cozumel with excursions to the main land to climb Mayan
pyramids. Grand Cayman offers snorkel or feeding sting rays at Sting
Ray City (a sand bar off the island where the rays hang out). Jamaica,
snorkeling, climbing Duns River Falls, riding horses in the surf,
mountain biking, Belize reef diving and snorkeling.

Eastern: St. Croix, St Thomas, St. John or the BVI, variations on the
above with St. John having some of the most untouched beaches anywhere.
St. Maartin, one side French the other side Dutch, experience two
distinctly different cultures in one day. I really like the Dutch
side. Tortola is a nice little island, very laid back.

Southern: Aruba, Turks & Caicos, Martinique, Dominica, Barbados. The
center of Aruba is very aired but you won't find any shifting sand
dunes. It's a different kind of desert with plants & trees that seem
dead but miraculously spring to life during the odd rainstorm. Dominica
is like Jamaica it has reefs, beaches, great river fishing and
swimming. In addition you can hire a guide for a mountain hike to the
Boiling Lake. It's a thermal lake inside an extinct volcanic rim.
Dominica also boasts over 100 waterfalls, plus a few thermal springs
that locals have made into natural jacuzzi free for anyone to use. You
can get more cruise info at rec.travel.cruises

When you book, be it a land vacation or a cruise - be sure to get cruise
or trip cancellation insurance with hurricane coverage. That way should
your cruise/trip be canceled, you'll be able to get a full refund or
rebook at the same rate for another date. 8-)
