Indeed it is. I still go every year since my father took me in 90'. Just
have to know where to go to get away. Plenty of coastline and not a soul in
sight. Just ignore all the
costa-is-so-played-out-so-i-will-buy-the-prepackaged-boat-trip-to-somlia-'ca
use-nobody-ever-goes-there-and-i'm-a-tru-hard-core-ripper attitude (Tom
Wolfe got nothing on that string).
Also stay out of Tamarindo (they now have a Burger King-it's a drive up
trailer with a front attached, but still), Jaco and Hermosa, unless you like
the developed feel (as developed as Puerto Rico, anyway), then by all means,
have at it. Nosara and Guiones have seen some serious growth but have been
VERY careful about planning and zoning the development so not too bad.
After that...well, it's the country you remember. Pura Vida
