For the hotel, it all comes down to money. If you are at a posh place
you are paying for you only. They don't want you bringing folks in to
use the jacuzzi, pool, bar, buffet etc who haven't paid their share.
Also, hookers do exist. The resort hotel, condo, timeshare doesn't want
to encourage it. Not all of the girls are hookers with a heart of
gold. If they can, these puta will roll you. An All Inclusive in Cancun
was very flexible about putas until one of their guests had his throat
cut. After the investigation by the law, that hotel lost it's license
and went out of business. You will find very similar policies at posh
hotels in major cities like New York, London, Paris, Cannes... etc.
Some hotels are flexible as long as there's a profit involved. When I
stayed at an AI in Playa del Carmen, I was informed that I could have a
guest on the grounds or in my room provided I purchased a day pass. A
day pass consisted of three quarters of a day's stay.
If you scope things out once you get there you may find the Mexican
equivalent of a "no tell motel". Some of the cabaƱas between Cancun and
Tulum are like that. Since they only offer the basics and no extras
they are much more lax about the whole extra guest thing. In Cancun
City (El Centro), there are motels that locals stay at. I've never used
one so I don't know the risk factor in booking a room as an extra fun
pad. But, I've heard that it's done. Of course the easiest thing to do
is just bring a girl or guy you currently are seeing. As long as you
book the resort for a week or more and pay your way, spend lots of money
at tourist places most hotels don't care if you are straight, gay,
lesbian or something in between. Just be a registered guest. ;-)
