The original agent who handled your booking may have screwed
the pooch by not processing the booking in a timely manner, and
your berth was taken B4 he or she confirmed the booking with the
CL. The agent then played catch-up with alternate arrangements.
I'm thinking that is more likely an issue with a random lunk-head
agent than something that systemic with this agency from which
I've otherwise heard good things.
I had something similar happen to me with an airline booking for
a trip to Italy back in '91. Had the flights been booked when
requested, I would have paid LT $300pp, but a two-week delay
resulted in a $200pp increase. Fortunately, the owner of the
agency accepted responsibility and refunded the difference. =R=
