A book by Tim Harford I just read does a pretty good job at explaining
from an economic point of view what the situation is with the US health
industry.
The Undercover Economist.
It was a pretty good read. Insurance industry is only a small part of
the book. The first 75% is pretty educational, the last 25% seems more
opinionated.
