As far as a cheaper flight, check with your airline about 2 weeks prior to
departure. If there are any specials, you may be able to get the lower
fare without penalties and with your same itinerary. I've been able to do
this a couple of times on US coast-to-coast, nonstop and one stop flights
on major and discount airlines. Savings wasn't much -- $25 to $50 -- but
$50 is $50.
