It's about 45 minutes to the airport in Liberia vs 4-5 hrs to San Jose. I'm
sure there's a bus because there's ALWAYS a bus in CR. There's no need for
a car in Flamingo as it's all close. We came in by bus from San Jose and
rented a jeep two different times for day trips. You can join local tours,
and if you like horseback riding, the guy there will let you actually run
your horse on the beach. Giddyup! Nobody lets you do that these days.

We went to some of the adjoining beaches, and they're all nice in that area,
but Flamingo had the surf and that nice hotel right on it. The canopy tour
they offer from the hotel was a gas, and there are other places in town with
signs for local tours. The one thing I didn't notice was a board rental
place, but I wasn't looking for one. You can ask at the hotel to make sure,
but with that location somebody is renting boards for sure.

good luck,
Keith
