Subject: Re: Increased Year Round Cruises - NY Posted on: Sun, 10 Jul 2005 16:44:28 GMT

I have cruised out of NYC the last two Feb. and will again in 2006. I would
rather board a ship in snow and frigid weather then be stuck in an airport
hoping to get to the ship. By the afternoon of the first sea day people were
on deck get sunburn -60s. Day two has always been 80s.

Far better to spend a day inside the ship then a day in airport lines and
pre cruise hotel that is a must for winter fly and cruise trips.

My only concern is it is becoming more popular every year and the prices
reflect it. Still a better value when you back out the lost days and cost
for flights and hotel. Bring on more ships it can only help the pricing.

I can go to my office in the city work have a day on Thu. Take a cab to the
ship. Complete my business on the cell and start a 10 day vacation taking
only 6 days off.

Rick...the convenient factor to get to NY is a plus! I do agree with
that since I can be at the pier in about 2 hours. However I can not
picture boarding a cruise in the middle of winter with snow and frigid
cold winds! I would much rather board a cruise in warmer climates. I
would also assume the first sea day you would need to stay inside the
ship since it would take at least that much time to get into warmer
waters. I like to be up on deck in the sun ASAP!
