Hi Rosalie,
There was the case of Leon Klinghoffer who was thrown overboard
(Achilles Lauro) by Palestinian terrorists on Oct. 7, 1985. This
tragic incident did not impact the US cruise market given its huge
growth since 1985. BTW, Abu Abbas, also known as Mohammad Abbas,
escaped from an Italian prison. He remained a terrorist until he was
apprehended by our US-led coalition in Baghdad. He died of a heart
attack on 3/9/2004 while in US custody.
Best regards,
Ray
