Speaking about GGC2006 on the MSC OPERA, Has anyone found out who all is
booked on this cruise yet? Can we ask for a roll-call?

REMINDER! Please get your Bios and Pictures up on the website so we can see
who's joining us.

>>>Here is some interesting info on MSC Cruises Dining plans for this
>>>season.
>>>
>>>Alberto Martinelli, the Genoa-based corporate chef for MSC Cruises, is
>>>in Florida this week to visit vendors who will provision MSC Lirica
>>>and MSC Opera during the upcoming Caribbean season.
>>>
>>>The ships carry more Americans during the winter from Fort Lauderdale,
>>>but pleasing a multinational crowd is not a difficult task, according
>>>to Martinelli. Menus highlight the cuisines of the destinations,
>>>however the overall food preparation style is Italian. One big success
>>>has been the addition of a nightly regional Italian dish.
>>>
>>>`We got excellent feedback last year about the Italian-style
>>>cooking from the American passengers,' Martinelli told Seatrade Insider.
>>>`Americans like Italian food,' and Europeans `come on
>>>board to have a cruise Italian-style.' Mediterranean influences – fresh
>>>herbs,
>>>tomatoes, fresh vegetables -- are widely appreciated. MSC can
>>>accommodate national preferences, such as providing special sausages
>>>or breads for Germans and, as a nod to Americans, choices like grilled
>>>salmon and caesar salad are always available.
>>>
>>>When it comes to meats, American beef is universally prized.
>>>American meat is very, very tasty – sweet, tender, very juicy, the
>>>chef said. MSC adds an Italian flair – for example, topping a steak with
>>>Gorgonzola cheese sauce.
>>>
>>>Some of the most popular dishes are pizzas, baked in each ship's
>>>lido restaurant with fresh dough. Pastas are favorites, too. MSC uses
>>>Barilla-brand pasta from Italy, supplied via MSC's enormous
>>>container fleet. We can send items from Italy all over the world very
>>>quickly.
>>>That is an advantage,' Martinelli pointed out.

>> Wooeeee! Sounds like a winner to me, Ermalee!
>> Different cruise line for a GGC
>> Different type of menu and cuisine
>> A ship with a perfect size (58,000 ton)

>> is..what more can we ask for?!!!
>> Dining room hours are 7:00 pm and 9:15 pm on this ship, too..
>>
>> Jean<~~~ all booked and ready for the GGC2006! ;-)
