BALONEY!!!! Certain members of the GGC2003 were the first to ever try out a
wave pool and we did it on the Golden princess. Here is an excerpt from a
report I posted on January 30, 2003:
------------------------------------
Last night we ran into a rough section of sea and the ship was rocking
a lot. Since Princess does not drain the water out of their pools
every night, I and a few other Goobers decided to try some body
surfing in the Neptune pool. It was fun for a while but got a little
boring... until I got the idea to take a table top from the Horizon
Court and try some short-boarding.
So there I was, catching the big waves... hanging ten on a 6-top when
along came this really gnarly wave that wiped me out and sent the
board crashing through the bar. We are sure going to miss that Pina
Colada Machine but the good news is that the bartender should recover
in a few days.
------------------------------------
I don't know about you but I am betting big money that someone from Royal
Caribbean read about our Goober Surf Party and turned it into an idea for
the new ship.
