Luther, my new friend, here's a trick we learned from a
wonderful couple who I'll just call Bill and Erm, for want
of a better name. When you travel, take along a potato sack
and some long cord. As your clothes become dirty, stuff
them in the potato sack and toss them overboard at night.
We usually enjoy a balcony cabin or at least one with those
cool little round windows that only open with my crowbar.

The sack will swirl in the wake of the ship for a few hours,
and be returned to you when you reel in the cord. From
there, it's a simple proposition to just hang the freshly
washed clothes on a line and either tie it off your balcony
or from any ship's rail. The clothes will dry in the breeze
and be fresh as ever by morning. The salt water might make
the old shorts a bit stiff at first, but you'll get used to it.

Corridors aboard the ship also work great for drying your
clothes. If you are near the atrium, you might consider
stringing the line there, where there is plenty of fresh
air. I never use the bath for drying laundry, since nothing
is worse than walking into a sodden pair of Mrs. Nonnymys'
knickers when going to the bathroom at 4:00a.

With this technique, the Mrs. and I have cruised for weeks
at a time with only minimal luggage.

Nonnymus- now headed to bed and with dreams of a cruise
coming rapidly
