Why not? For the price of one or two cab fares, you can rent a car from
Priceline and have all sorts of freedom to go wherever you want.
There's really not anyplace to walk to from the Amerisuites - I was
just there in August. It's not particularly convenient to the downtown
area.

You actually don't have a huge amount of time - if your flight lands at
noon, you gotta figure an hour or more to get off the plane, collect
your bags, get the shuttle to Amerisuites, check in, etc. First stop
for me would be the great little Mexican restaurant right next to the
hotel - good food and very inexpensive - especially the lunch menu.
Then, maybe I'd head over to Las Olas for an afternoon of leisurely
wandering - great galleries and shops. Not sure how much that would
appeal to the kids, but it's a nice area. Lots of places to eat there,
as well.

What kinds of things do you like to do?
