I agree with parts of what you say. The fair tax by all indications
I've seen looks to be the way to go, but has little chance of coming to
fruition. And I don't like the name calling and false stories either.
They really have no place in reasoned discussions.

But... And you knew this was coming ;-)

We have a President that by all indications only listens to his inner
circle of 'yes' persons.

A Vice President with such close ties to the company that keeps getting
more and bigger no bid contracts that give the appearance, if not the
fact of ethical misconduct.

The top 5 in the Justice Department have no prosecutorial experience.

FEMA had a head that had exactly zero experience that would be of value,
we won't even discuss his poor resume` that wouldn't have gotten him any
job of consequence.

And yes, unemployment is low, but the wages are lower for most, with a
disparity between the top and the bottom at an unheard of and all-time
high.

We're in a war we cannot win in any semblance of any definition of
winning I've ever heard of. Iraq is working on a Theocracy in their new
constitutional efforts (think Iran), they hated us before we got there
for most years you and I can remember, they hate us now, and they'll
hate us when we finally leave.

The number and percentages of Americans living in poverty is up quite a
bit, with nothing in sight to indicate that this particular
administration and congress will be able to turn around.

Gas for our cars is up, as you noted. But, natural gas and oil that we
heat with are also going up. Projections are they will be 50% or so
higher than last year when they were already up over 30% from the
previous year. Other things are starting to rise as the effects of the
oil/gas increases starts working its way throughout the economy.

A huge debt is sitting there and growing as we go merrily along with
this administration. This represents a huge bill that will come due in
our lifetimes.

BTW, none of this is opinion, it is documented fact and is just a few
things I can think of off the top of my head.

My opinions are much stronger and don't include supporting the Democrats
either. Frankly, neither party, nor the 'career politicians' that we
keep sending back in office are representing us very well these days.

Time for a change - next election, vote 'not the incumbent' in every
election and keep doing it for a few years until they get the message.
Heck, I'm beginning to think drawing straws wouldn't produce anything
worse than what we've had for all too long.
