My read is that Tom got shafted by CSA. Their use of the pre-existing
clause was stretched because even though Tom had been to the doctor a
few years before there had been no diagnosis of the condition that
caused the cancelation. I don't know if Tom did any followup but if it
happened to me I would have filed complaints on CSA with the state
insurance board, attorney general, BBB.
My conclusion from what CSA did with Tom's claim has been to continue
to buy insurance but not do business with CSA. I have been buying from
either Travelex or Travel Guard, mostly Travelex of late.
