Re: Do any cruise ships stay overnight in CABO San Lucas or even midnight?

There is only Spirit of Endeavour has stay there actually your cruise start
and also end at the same port!... so you have plenty time to explore or stay
there but cruisewest is destination oriented ship not a party,
entertainment or gambling, your biggest entertainment will be local folk
dance groups :)

8 Day/7 Night Cabo San Lucas Roundtrip with Spirit of Endeavour
Description & Itinerary:

Exploring the Seas of Cortes aboard the 102 guest Spirit of Endeavour,
you'll experience the sea and the land as only a small ship can offer. Get
up close and personal with whales, dolphins, sea lions, along with other
animals and plants found nowhere else in the world. Enjoy the casual onboard
environment and new found friends who share your enthusiasm in becoming one
with the landscape and nature of the Sea of Cortes.

Your voyage begins and ends in Cabo San Lucas, which offers a wealth of
watersports ranging from deep sea fishing, snorkeling excursions to scuba
expeditions. Drop anchor at Isla Espiritu Santo, one of the most
biologically diverse marine areas in the world. Another exciting day
includes spectacular whale watching. In Loreto, learn about the history of
the mission from Baja's colonial era. Spend an exciting day at Los Islotes
and Isla Partida where you can swim with sea lions, hike rugged canyons,
paddle a kayak or just relax on the beach. Your last port of call is La Paz,
a picturesque city that dates back to 1535, with inviting promenade and
enticing shops and restaurants.

A highly recommended optional excursion to enhance your cruise experience is
Copper Canyon. Known as ?Mexico's Grand Canyon?, the Copper Canyon is four
times larger and nearly 1,000 feet deeper than its Arizona counterpart. This
adventure by rail through the canyon to the heights of the Sierra Tarahumara
is a spectacular continuation of your Sea of Cortes cruise.

The Value of Cruise West:

Small ships can go where large ships cannot
through narrow waterways, to tiny ports, and to islands, inlets and coves
without docks.
The focus is on the up-close experiences with a focus on the destination,
rather than the ship itself
One excursion or activity is included at all ports of call and shore stops
Flexible itineraries mean the ships can stop and linger to watch whales or
other wildlife
Special guest speakers and local guides add insider insights
Snorkel and kayak gear (including wet suits for extended snorkeling) is
free with instructions and guides
Library with selection of books, guidebooks and videos
Zodiak launches provide access to islands without docks on several
itineraries
Fine American/continental cuisine with regional specialities
Casual dining with open seating
Casual dress
Outdoor barbecues
Complimentary soft drinks, coffee, tea and cocoa

8 Day/7 Night Cabo San Lucas Roundtrip with Spirit of Endeavour
Cruise Highlights:

-Step ashore at spectacular islands covered with exotic desert foliage
-Snorkel and kayak crystal-clear waters teeming with colourful fish
-Encounter up-close views of whales and purpoise
-Tour Loreto's 17th century mission
-Explore by inflatable excursion craft
-Enjoy the expert insights of Exploration Leaders

DAY 1 Transfer to Cabo San Lucas Transfer from Los Cabos Airport to the
Spirit of Endeavour at Cabo's inner harbour. Plan to arrive by 1:30pm. This
evening set sail into the Sea of Cortes.
DAY 2 ISLA ESPIRITU SANTO This 23,383-acre island near La Paz is centered in
one of the most biologically diverse marine areas in the world - and a major
environmental success story, having been acquired for conervation purposes
in January 2003, by the Mexican government. Serval plants and animals here
are found nowhere else in the world, including the black tailed jack rabbit
and antelope squirrel. The Spirit of Endeavour will drop anchor at Espiritu
Santo's Bahia Bonanza for a day ashore. Take a guided walk among the tangle
of exotic cacti, or swim, snorkel and kayak the crystal clear waters - the
sea here supports 900 species of fish.
DAY 3 WHALE WATCHING This whole day is spent pursuing up-close encounters
with marine life. The Sea of Cortes itself is home to huge schools of common
and bottled-nose dolphins, as well as humpback minke, fin and huge blue
whales. Famously, however, from mid-January to mid-March hundres of gray
whales congregate in the shallow lagoons of Baja's Pacific shore.

When our local contacts tell us the whales are present there, you will cross
the peninsula by motorcoach to Puerto Adolfo Lopez Mateos. There, board an
outboard-equipped pango to enjoy close encounters with the grays, who have
migrated some 10,000 miles from Alaska's Bering Sea to mate, give birth, and
rear their young. The whales often come right up to greet their human
visitors.

When whales are not present here due to migration patterns, we will look for
whales in the Seas of Cortes.
DAY 4 ISLAND EXPLORATION Guided by weather and tides, you will visit one of
the beautiful and special islands of the Sea of Cortes. Exploration will
include nature hikes, kayaking and snorkeling. Each island has unique and
memorable story to tell.
DAY 5 LORETO Founded in 1697, Loreto's Nuestra Senora de Loreto Mission was
the original "mother" church from which all the other California missions
were founded, eventually leading as far north as Sonoma, California. A
museum adjacent to the mission displays historical artifacts and paintings
from Baja's colonial era. You will enjoy strolling the streets and plazas of
this picturesque seaside village, capped off by a reception with musical
entertainment at the mission.
DAY 6 LOS ISLOTED & ISLA PARTIDA Los Islotes is a steep seamount punctured
by sea caves. Blue-footed boobies reside on the cliffs, and a large colony
of California sea lions lives on the rocks below. You may have a memorable
opportunity to swim and snorkel as the female sea lions and their curious
young pups swirl about you in the sea. Continue to Isla Particla nearby to
hike the island's rugged canyons, kayak up-close to rock-walled headlands,
or just relax on the beach. In the sheltered, vee-shaped cove of Ensenada
Grande, the silky sandy bottom shelves out very gradually for hundreds of
feet, as gentle waves lap onto the mangrove-backed beach.
DAY 7 LA PAZ Today the Sprit of Endeavour ties up at the central waterfront
of Baja California Sur's capital and largest city, which was founded in the
1530s. Enjoy the Old Baja atmosphere of La Paz, as you explore the shops,
gelaterias and miles-long waterfront malecon or promenade. Options here
include sea kayaking, mountain biking, and diving (for certified divers).
This afternoon enjoy an exclusive reception, complete with Mexican music,
dancers, and pinatas. Later, depart La Paz to sail overnight to Cabo San
Lucas.

*There is an optional Copper Canyon Package available to add-on at this
particular stop of the cruise. It is a 4 night package which includes an
overnight in La Paz, flight to Los Mochis, El Fuerte city tour and overnight
stay, train trip to Copper Canyon, 2 nights in Divisadero situated near the
rim of Copper Canyon, transfer, tour and overnight in Chuhuahua.

DAY 8 ARRIVE CABO SAN LUCAS Cruise at dawn past the spectacular rock
formation Los Arcos, at the very tip of the Baja peninsula. After breakfast
disembark and transfer to Los Cabos Airport.
