| Hi Diane,
|
| I really enjoyed reading your trip review. I loved the details. You
really
| made the trip seem very special, so different than my cruise experiences
to
| the Caribbean. I am definitely considering HAL for our family trip to
| Alaska.
|
| When booking the outside rooms on the promonade deck, how do you know
which
| cabins are close to the doors for easy exit for outside viewing? I think
| we are going to have to pay for my father's room as well, so even though I
| would love a balcony, it probably won't happen. These rooms seem like a
| good second best.
|
Kim, we looked at the deck plans and picked category I cabins near the
doors. When they changed our rooms to C they were only 4 cabins away, and
didn't have the obstructed view.
We did have to close curtains at night but since it really didn't get dark
until very late and got light really early, you couldn't see in unless you
were walking the promenade deck at 11 pm or before 5 am.
Also, the childrens programs were awesome when we did it. We watched them do
all sorts of activities. If you go in July or August, you will find dozens
of children on board. Just not hundreds of children. The counselors did a
lot with the kids. Plus, the indoor heated pool was definitely a hit with
the kids. You spend a large amount of time in port, so it's not as
important to have the amenities that they have in the Caribbean.
Diane
| Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions and providing the link
for
| your review. I appreciate it!
