We went on the Sprit last week. We made the reservations late on the 'net,
so we didn't have official docs, but we printed out the confirmation pages
from the web and took those as proof, along with passports as usual.
When we got to the pier, the porter had a list of passengers, and we were on
it! So he filled out tags on the spot and tagged the bags.
Inside, we were directed to a desk where they checked our reservation again
and then filled out a couple of hokey hand-written forms to give to the
check-in agent as our "tickets".
The check-in went ok, although the guy seemed a little baffled at first by
the hand-written form. When that was done, he told us we would pick up our
key cards at another desk "around the corner". Then it got weird - no such
thing. Security guy stopped us at the gangway since we didn't have cards.
He called a supervisor who took care of it and got us our cards - took about
10 minutes - that was the only snag. So, don't leave the check-in person
without key card in hand.
HTH.
