I would suggest that you go on Royal Caribbean, as I feel that Carnival
is "bargin basement" as far as cruise lines go. I would also suggest
that you stick with the transportation offered by the cruise line. It
may cost you a little more, but it is much easier to use and you won't
run any risk of missing the ship.
As for where to be on the ship, I would recommend being on one of the
lower decks on the port side. There, you can have a great view of the
water and you'll be able to see small boats when you're in port.
