Ray, it hasn't been a really long time since I went to a baseball game,
perhaps ten years, but I was shocked to see what a "decent" ticket to a
Philadelphia Phillies game costs. "Field seats", which are between first
and third base, are $44. "Baseline" which are from the bases to the
outfield wall are $38.
Cheapest seat in the house now appears to be $15 which is probably more than
the best seat cost the last time I went. I made no attempt to find out what
food costs, but I'll bet that a couple can cruise for less per diem than
going to a baseball game.
Just as an aside, when people defend drink prices on a cruise ship as
compared to where they live, please remember that the cruise lines buy their
liquor and beer tax free, with the possible exception of NCL's American
flagged ships.
