Forgot to mention - my last (and only) cruise was on the SS Independence
around Hawaii, so this will be quite different. The Infinity is 300
feet longer, 20 feet wider, 3 times the tonnage, and holds almost twice
as many passengers. And, of course, has much less history.

Any news on the Independence? Is it still sitting in San Francisco
waiting for NCL to decide what to do? It was an old ship without the
conveniences of today's big boats, but it had a certain charm.

By the way, if I take the positioning cruise, will I immediately be
eligible for the Captain's Club (i.e., on the Alaska cruise), or is
there a waiting period?
