I haven't found this to be true for my last three cruises: a pacific
coastal repo last May, a transat in October, and my Alaska repo in a
couple of weeks. The total of the one way legs for each of these (plus
my own transfers) was hundreds less than what each of the three cruise
lines was charging. It pays to shop around and keep an eye on fares,
then grab them at the right time.
