Pan Pacific is excellent, but not cheap. IIRC, it has a five-stars
rating. Definitely meets your request for "a night of luxury". Even if
you don't stay there, you *must* go for drinks in the bar -- it is
stunning!

Sutton Place is much quieter, but you risk bumping into one of the
big-name film stars who live there while shooting in Vancouver. They
love it!
