Using this logic, I would have never gone back on Celebrity after my cruise
on the Mercury in 1998. To judge an entire cruise line based on one
experience on one ship (good or bad) is IMO, being short sighted. If I had
not given Celebrity a second chance I would have missed an excellent cruise
and would have continued to have an inaccurate and out of date opinion of
that cruise line.
Fact is that Tom went on a short Carnival cruise from New York. That type
of cruise is not necessarily indicative of the type of cruise found
throughout the Carnival fleet. It may well be representative of some
Carnival cruises, but certainly not the majority. During Tom's only
Carnival cruise, his daughter became ill. There is no evidence that the
ship had anything to do with her illness, if I recall correctly it was
pointed out by others it was almost certain that she had been exposed to the
illness before she got on the ship. However, in Tom's mind, his daughter
got sick on a Carnival ship and no matter how many people come back to this
newsgroup and say they had a good experience on Carnival, Tom will continue
to bash the cruise line and the people who enjoy cruising on it.
Tom writes well, but he has become predictable and boring and even his
friends on this newsgroup take him to task for being a "one trick pony". He
has made bashing Carnival into a personal vendetta.
