I always advise folks that if they want to see the real Alaska,
not a bunch of cruise line excursion "experiences", that they
should come any way BUT on a cruise ship. Why you sheeple want
to be herded around in groups of 2000 is beyond me. Sort of
defeats the whole idea of Alaska, which is solitude.

Besides which, we're sick and tired of the crowds, air and water
pollution, busses cramming small town streets, and constant
helicopter noise. I'd be happy to never ever see another cruise
ship in my town, and at least half of Juneau agrees with me.
Unfortunately, the cruise industry can afford to buy more
politicians than ordinary citizens.
