Hi Everyone!
I just got off of the Freedom of the seas and know that everyone likes
to hear about new ships
here is my review, of course its my opinions.....
IF you want to see photos go to www.cruiseoutlets.com and follow the
link to FREEDOM of the SEAS photos.. ENJOY!
Yes We are back! and I am soooo tired!
The ship was just marvelous and below is my Take on the ship:
Bayonne- Easy in and out may not be some beautiful Port but was easy to
get to and check in.... then off to the ship we were on Bus #4 to the
ship which is walking distance away but you have to ake the shuttle...
AS we were boarding they were taking someone out in a hearse that is
not a good sign! The day was drizzlyand overcast BUt who cares! we were
boarding the Largest ship in the WOrld!
STATEROOMS: We entered Deck 1- looked like any other deck 1 of a
ship... we went to our stateroom which was a inside stateroom ( have
not had one of those in ages! hahaha) BUT I was sooo impressed! the New
Bedding is spectacular- very upscale 9 inch thick mattresses that have
springs! NO more COTS! and there is a Foam topper too, lots of shams
and pillows and the linens are feathery feeling and white on white with
HIgh thread count. Loved it . the room was very roomy and we had flat
screen tv.
We also went to the Presidential Family suite that sleeps 14. IT has a
bar and a huge table and deck chairs and hot tub on the HUGE deck it
expands the front of the ship- Very nice but I like the ROyal Suite
still..
Saw the ROyal Suite and Ocean views etc. Seems to me the rooms are a
bit larger... I can tell cause the night stands usually fit snug tween
thebeds But there wwas actually room tween the nightstands.. hmmm
Bathroom etc same as other RCI ships.
WE DID NOT HAVE TO MUSTER this was a first!
FOOD: WE went to the Windjammer and it was identical to what is on
other ships. you walk in and there is chops on the right Porto on the
left and Jade to the left and then you work your way back. Food eas
same as to the last cruise I was on and was hot and very good No
complaints at all...
Dining room was beautiful with chandelier and named after Artists- we
were in Divinci i think- Had escargot shirmp and Filet of Beef that
melted in our mouth. Ceasar salad and Sharon and i shared the Eggplant
tower which we really enjoyed. Dessert we had cheesecake...
Promenade: I believe this one is a bit large in length- THere is some
improvements- FIrst they added a Pizzeria and the desserts in there
Tiramisu for example were heavenly! this was really nice IT was at the
other end of where the promenade was on say the north end this was the
south end. Ben and jerrys is now like a ice cream parlor Quite nice!
$250 for a cone and $4.75 I belive for a sundae or maybe that was a $5
I do not remember to many Mojitos!
Had chunky monkey and Cherry Garcia BUT the girl said that they are not
allowed to mix flavors only 1 is allowed this made no sense to me if I
was buying a double dip but that is what was said.....
There was something neat on the promenade and always had men in there
and that was a place called A CLEAN SHAVE its a Barber shop looking
place that had 2 chairs and men get shaves! and shoes shined! really
neat! there was a store called GET OUT THERE which sold sports like
clothing.. the usual other places VIntages ( they do not have sangria
HRMMPFFF) the Bear and the Bull Just a beautiful area I like these
Promenades!
SHOWS:
Once Upon A TIME was WONDERFUL a twist on fairytales to todays music it
was one of the best shows I have seen!
THe Ice show I think is called Liberte Freedom and went to different
countries it startes out very boring BUT then took off! THer was this
girl who changed clothes before your eyes like 20 times! it was
incredible
There is a new Lounge in front of the ice rink that sems like it will
be for Karoke its called LAt call ro something like that Something
about Fame and Shame....
Boleros had a nice group playing Latin music and it was hopping.
I did not go to the Chapel or viking Crown I totaly forgot and should
of if I want to get married on this ship BUT I think too many mojitos!
Also JOe Frasier and ROberto Duran adn another boxer forgot his name
they were onboard!
ALL in all a beautiful SHip with LOTS TO do, great for families and I
did not feel it to be crowded or anything contrary to what people may
think on this huge ship! IF you ever were on any of the voyager class
it is quite similar but on more steroids! hahahha
I have pictures If you want to see them let me know!
