Dear Jamie,
You are on vacation!
You are going to be sailing to (or from) Alaska, which is
eminently "comfort driven" as far as clothing goes.
You can wear whatever you darn well please, provided of course,
that is something you would be willing to be seen in public in at your
home. Dress comfortably, wear comfortable shoes, and have a great time.
My wife wears "pants suit" type outfits and is certainly not
alone in her choice of dress on formal nights. The idea is to have fun
and be comfortable, without - of course - being so grotty as to cause
offense.
