You don't? Did you ever think that the government would be keeping a record
of what phone calls you make. Did you ever think that nail clippers would
be classified as a dangerous weapon and confiscated at an airport? If you
trust the government to be consistant and fair, you are a fool. This is the
same government that has a program to restore elecrtical power to all of
Iraq yet still hasn't cleaned up the mess in New Orleans.

Do I think that there could be something happen in the world that would
induce the federal government to announce that effective immediatly and in
the interest of "national security", no one enters the country without a
valid passport? You bet your butt I think it is possible.

Passports cost $97 and are good for 10 years. Perhaps if you can't afford
$9.70 per person a year for proper identification then you really shouldn't
be traveling at all.
