That's exactly it. They don't work reliably enough to bother with. I've had
some success between three decks separated about half the length of VOTS &
it was breaking up constantly. Aside from the laws that prohibit them in
certain countries, they can be handy when your wife is shopping & it gives
you a chance to wander without waiting outside the store. We've used them
with caution & haven't had any problems yet.
