What do you suggest that the cruise lines do about smoking?

What is it you suggest I should write on the comment card? Dining rooms
are smoke-free. Theaters are smoke-free. On my most recent cruise
(Miracle) there was at least one smoke-free bar area....there were
enough smoke-free areas on board to spend time, if smoke was that much
of a bother. Do you suggest the cruiselines ban smoking on
board...period? Won't happen

Here's a question...for all you vocal non-smokers here on rtc, how many
of you sailed on Carnival Paradise, when she was designated a strictly
non-moking ship? It was an experiment that didn't work. Why? Because
most non-smokers just don't care that much about spending a week with
incidental second-hand smoke. At least, that's my take on it. If more
non-smoking cruisers felt that passionately about not inhaling
second-hand smoke, then the Paradise experiment would have worked, and
other cruise lines would have followed with their own designated
non-smoking ships.

I did sail on Paradise and it was lovely to be in a smoke-free casino
every evening (really the only spot on a ship that I'm ever bothered by
smoke).

Renaissance Cruiseline was also smoke free for the most part, wasn't
it? Hmmm...not in business anymore.

I totally get the second-hand smoke issue. I know it can be offensive
to some and downright dangerous to all of us...I'm just not sure that
there's a way to confine it on a ship. I mean, smokers are allowed to
enjoy their cruise vacations too, right?
