I never was onboard (no pun intended) with this idea as a daytime
thing, but I love the concept for night (the "under the stars" part of
MUTS). But, a question...while one pool area is designated for MUTS, is
there a band in another pool area, or has the deck band been eliminated
on Princess ships offering MUTS? If there is a pool area with a band,
and another pool area that has MUTS, is there yet a third area where
there is NO inescapable noise (quiet pool?)? I kind of gravitate to the
quietest pool area there is, on sea days. On Princess, would my only
option be the extra-charge sanctuary area?

I can't categorize movies together with cell phones and laptops. Cell
phones and laptops are communication devices bringing you back in touch
with the world you're trying to leave behind, while a movie is a
two-hour escape from those things. I've enjoyed watching movies on
ships (the old HAL Westerdam had a real movie theater while the newer
Oosterdam and Zuiderdam use the Queens Lounge...but the popcorn is
still free). It's a great alternative to the evening production show in
the main theater. We have a drive-in movie theater about 3 miles from
our house (just saw Superman Returns there, last weekend). I kind of
equate MUTS to that - comfy chair, nice breeze, snacks...and on a ship,
no mosquitos!!
