It shouldn't take very long for people to transfer this stuff to their
checked luggage.

Make sure you have the prescription label for the drops and get a
letter from your doctor that they are essential. Would your husband be
ok without the gel inserts for the time you are traveling? If not get
a letter from his foot doctor, but I would for this contact the
airline ahead of time.
