It's all for security, have you not heard? There is no sacrifice too
great to feel more secure, right? If a few people die because their
medicines or life support equipment get lost or they go blind because
their eye drops were confiscated, well, that's the minor price you pay
to live in a free society. It says we are free, right ont he label, I
am sure of it.
At least one major court has ruled that flying is a privilege not a
right (in a case regarding having to produce acceptable I.D. in order
to fly even though your bags and person are thoroughly searched) and
since there are buses and trains and even bicycles, you have a choice,
so not being abkle to fly does not limit your freedom to travel in any
way. They never have explained how you are expected to travel
overseas in an era with no real point-to-point passenger ships, but no
matter, it's all for safety and as endless quotes from other people
indicate: "You just can't be too safe and no price is to high to feel
safer when travelling and they know things we don't so we should all
obey the rules, it's for our own good." I guess you can sell your
house and buy a sailboat large enough to take you where you need to go
if overseas and learn how to survive while doing it.

The Pres. has gone on record as saying that only those who wish to do
harm will be bothered by these rules and the innocent have no reason
to worry when their goods are searched or confiscated. I sure feel
safer. |
