Terrorism don't you know? Someone might put a bomb in the mailbox.
Anythign over either 1 pound or 2 pounds (I forget which) *must* be
mailed at a postal facility so they can ask you if it's a bomb. Thus
are we ever so much safer.

The main Post Office here in town no longer has curb side boxes of any
sort and they lock the building up tight on Sundays so there is
basically no way to mail a letter on Sunday at all now in the
immediate down town area.

I almost never use a curbside box as the pickup times always seem to
be way early in the morning or there's no weekend service so anything
I mail won't go out until tomorrow at the earliest so I just take
stuff to work (we have a small P.O. in the lobby.)
